Happy early holidays, readers! How I’ve missed my time here, yet have not forgotten you all.
What a year it has been and, even more so, what a year the next will be! Early this November, I received a phone call I had been waiting on since the summer months. I am so looking forward to 2018, and transmitting to others this excitement that burgeons within. This frenzy that cracks at my core, and tightens the spaces between my skin and my bones and my eyes. Oh, how things go about and glisten in the sun! How hunger cuts at me constantly, beyond that which consumes me in this form, and drives me to have! To know! To be! To feel!
Indeed, to everyone reading this, there is a great love affair called life…and we have happened so that we may happen upon ourselves. Lest we need a reminder, and to tide us over in the meantime, here is one of my favorite excerpts in literature…one that is about just that:
“Nelly, do you never dream queer dreams?” she said, suddenly, after some minutes’ reflection.
“Yes, now and then,” I answered.
“And so do I. I’ve dreamt in my life dreams that have
stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas: they’ve
gone through and through me, like wine through water,
and altered the colour of my mind.”-Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights
